Rachel and Quinn had awesome, angry, yet meaningful, sex in the bridal shop after the “I can’t stand around and watch you ruin your life by marrying Finn Hudson” line.
Afterwards, though, it’s Rachel who runs away, scared and appaled at what they just did. She doesn’t talk with Quinn until Regionals, no matter how many times the blonde calls her and tries to reach her.
That’s why Quinn looks like someone killed her mother when they announce they are going to get married right after the competition; she didn’t know what she was expecting - but she wasn’t expecting that.
Their hallway scene is sort of a goodbye; a goodbye to what happened between them in the bridal shop. Quinn tears up, because it’s too fucking hard to step back and watch Rachel be happy with someone else. But she does it. Because there isn’t a person on earth who loves Rachel Berry more than Quinn Fabray does.
Rachel stalls the wedding becasue she realizes one thing, as moments keep passing; when it comes down to it, she will always choose Quinn, no matter what, and she waits for her, so she can finally say it.
